After an order from Marlene's Pet Shop, customers receive a review invitation from our review platform. Reviews arrive with a timestamp and an order reference. That's the entire pipeline — no imports from other sites, no purchased reviews, no reviews written by anyone who works here or is related to anyone who works here.
The badge on every review on this site means the review is matched to a real order in our system. If we can't match a review to an order, we don't publish it — that's why the count is small and grows slowly, and we're fine with that. We'd rather show you 22 reviews we can prove than thousands we can't.
We remove spam, profanity, and personal information (emails, phone numbers, addresses). We do not remove reviews for being negative — thecritical reviews page exists precisely so you can check that claim, and it currently includes a fulfillment complaint we'd obviously rather not have.
The 4.6 on the homepage is the plain average of all 22 ratings (it's 4.64, we round to one decimal). Nothing is weighted, excluded, or "adjusted." When new verified reviews come in, the number moves — in whichever direction the customers send it.
No review on this site was paid for, and no incentive is ever conditioned on a positive rating. If that ever changes for a future collection campaign, those reviews will be clearly labeled.
Photos on the wall of cats were sent in by customers with their reviews or shared with us directly. If one of them is your photo and you'd like it updated or removed, contact us and we'll sort it out quickly.
Marlene's Pet Shop — the maker of Kitty Kurlz. This site is not an independent review platform and never claims to be. It's the place where we publish everything our verified customers say, good and bad, in one room. More about us →
